The Physical Education curriculum provides students with learning opportunities that will help them make positive decisions regarding their health and encourage them to lead healthy, active lives.
Challenges in individual and team pursuits also encourage fitness awareness, skill development and aesthetic appreciation of human movement.
Valour JK-12 School encourages all athletes to pursue excellence in training an competition. The High Pro program is designed to teach young athletes (grades 9 and 10) how to train their body for optimal performance. In the first two years of the program students learn a variety of training techniques that are designed to give them a foundation knowledge on which they will build their own training program specifically designed to their sport.
In grades 11 and 12, students will begin to refine their training program to their competitive sport. They will design , implement and monitor their training routine in season and out of season. Competition performance will also be a source of data on the effectiveness of their person training program.
Over the course of their 4 year programming students will learn about anatomy, physiology, nutrition and sports psychology. Students in the High Pro program will take Physical Education all year.
